I had the pleasure of speaking to John Blake at CNN last week on The Odyssey and Homer's influence on the New Testament. I am more sympathetic to Dennis MacDonald's position than perhaps comes across here, but an interesting take on this "debate," including bringing in Candida Moss' excellent work on book culture and enslavement.
